Fog By Carl Sandburg "The fog comes on little cat feet. It sits looking over harbor and city on silent haunches and then moves on."
Dear Reader,
Iām glad youāre here. Truly. This writing thing, the living of life, becomes a rather lonely road at times.
I donāt know as I have much to share at the end of this month, as Sandburgās poem sums up much of my brain in the past few weeks. Iām not sure where the month went, but I know it was spent well.
Weeknights were spent shuttling children to and fro: practices, lessons, and friends. Weekends were spent cheering on football and soccer games, time with friends and family, and preparing for the impending winter.
It has had its highs and lows, as well as questions answered and things still left unknown; as much of life is. Thank you for sharing in the journey.
Blessings Always,
Jessica

Football and Soccer season for my boys are officially over. Itās bittersweet. While so many parents prefer the indoor sports of winter, I truly do love just being outside in the beauty of fall during these games even when the weather throws curveballs (we had some exceptionally hot days and some rather cold and wet days). I also love how the sheer physicality of football pushes my sons; not that other sports arenāt physical, they are, but thereās something about football.
Iāve been struggling with my eyes the past month, which has resulted in far less time sitting to write. Still donāt have an answer as to the cause, but have at least been able to treat the symptoms. Much of the month my right eye has been incredibly itchy and irritated. Finally went to the walk-in and have scratched my cornea in the process. Iām using erythromycin ointment which has helped, but now leaves my eyes goopy and vision blurry.
You may have noticed that I posted exactly nothing in the past month. Between homeschooling, subbing, sports, mothering, and all the other items on my to-do list, it just didnāt happen. Iām trying to tell myself that itās ok. A life lived is better than publishing weekly, consistently, but then I look at others who I know have so much on their plates as well and they manage to write lengthy compositions. Ah comparison; the thief of joy.

āFrom that time on, the world was hers for the reading. She would never be lonely again, never miss the lack of intimate friends. Books became her friends and there was one for every mood.ā
